Non-automotive premier employer in the Findlay, Ohio market is seeking a Materials Engineer to join their engineering team.
Daily you will report to the Director of Engineering and Quality.
The Materials Engineer will be responsible supporting the operation's effective usage of various resins within the manufacturing process and also thorough research and development of new products and/or processes.
Daily you will concentrate on:
Specification of materials used in current manufacturing applications Development of operations bests practices Testing and/or validation of new resins or formulations Support resin vendor management and/or purchasing efforts Trouble shoot manufacturing issues related to materials Development and qualification of new materials, parts and processes Conduct complex and methodical analysis Participate in active planning related to new product trials and launches Evaluate emerging and/or trending technologies for potential application Manage MSDS/SDS internal data collection and management system Other engineering duties as assignedCandidates will spend up to 70% of their time on the manufacturing floor.
Candidates are required to have strong communication skills and be able to work in a team environment.
This is a fast-paced and customer driven manufacturing environment.
This position does require candidates to communicate at all levels, thrive on process improvements and enjoy being forward thinking.

This is a day shift position with project responsibilities on the weekend as needed.
REQUIREMENTS for the Materials Engineer:
1.
A bachelor's degree in a technical field; mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, polymer science degrees are preferred2.
At least 3 years of similar materials engineering experience in a plastics/polymer environment3.
A strong understanding of polymer processing4.
A strong background and understanding of material science concepts5.
Experience with continuous improvement initiatives6.
The ability to oversee project timelines7.
Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPointSkills preferred but NOT required:
1.
ABS, Acrylic and/or TPO experience2.
New product launches3.
